I want to continue as a Regional Graduate Representative because I was able to see the needs in my region, and during my term, I learned how to lead effectively. In previous years, when I helped the RGRs, I supported their vision, but I didn’t know what it was like to be in their position. Now that my term is almost over, I’ve gotten into the groove of leading my graduate team and finding better ways to support students in my region. I want to look for a successor to take over after me. I want to leave behind standard operating procedures so the next RGR doesn’t have to start from scratch. My goal is to train the next RGRs so they are ready to lead and continue building up our region.
